The past few days we have had to take both of our cars in to the mechanic to be looked at. My husband’s car had an issue with his oil and my car was making jerky movements when you turned left. And since it is January, it was time for their emissions to be checked so we can complete the renewal of our car tags, which is something else Bill Fryar’s can do and I wouldn’t have to wait in line for an hour or more at the nearest emission testing station.

Our mechanic is Bill Fryar’s Auto Service. Damon found them on the Car Talk website with a good review and they are really close to our house. Every time we go in there they are very quick to call him and give him the lowdown on what the problem is or isn’t. And we usually get the car back, fixed, the same day. Prices are reasonable, which helps in our decision to return to Bill’s every time we need something looked at.

This morning we took my car to have the jerky turning thing looked at. When I got home I realized that I left my stroller in the trunk and drove back over there to get the stroller (my morning activities required that I have a stroller). By the time I got there the car was gone, on a test drive to check out the left turn problems. I was pretty impressed at how quickly they got to work on the car. I waited until it was back and the mechanic helped me get the stroller out so I could be on my way.

Another topic to note is that the shop is very clean. They have a waiting room that is warm and clean, with magazines and a TV. I didn’t sit in there long, but it left a good impression.

This is definitely an auto shop that I recommend.

Fryar Bill Auto Service is a con and a rip off company. I sent my van in because it would not pass TN emissions test. It needed a new computer.

He replaced things like belts that I had already replaced a week before. A lot of things it didn’t need. And charged me $800.00. I ran it back to emissions, It did not pass.

I called the idiot and he said for $300.00 more he would replace the computer. I asked him what the $800.00 was for. He said parts I needed.
The whole reason I took it to the cons in the first place, it would not pass emissions.

I ended up taking it somewhere else, They replaced a sensor, that bill said they replaced, And passed emissions.

If you check chattanooga BBB.org or http://www.judysbook.com you will find mine and others reports about this ripoff company.

If you are a senior citizen, stay away from these cons. They will rip you off.
