Dear Chattanooga Visitor: Did you leave your camera at the Aquarium?

If you did, I found it!

Yesterday afternoon, around 4 pm, I was walking back to my office from the Canvas Canoe (it is on Market and 1st street).

As I walked through the Tennessee Aquarium patio area, I walked under the bridge that is behind the little rows of fountains. On one of the four benches under the bridge there was a bag, sitting alone as if it was waiting for something or someone.

I looked around and saw several groups of people, so I asked them if the bag belonged to them. No one claimed the bag and one group said they had been watching it because it had been there a long time.

I took the camera bag to the Visitors Center, which is in front of the Aquarium, to the side of the bridge where the benches are. I gave it to a very nice lady, who has put the camera bag in lost and found. If you are no longer in the Tennessee Valley and want to make an inquiry, call them at (800) 322-3344 or (423) 756-8687 locally. (There is no guarantee that the camera actually belonged to a visitor. I am just guessing.)

I can’t tell you what kind of camera and stuff was in the bag, because the nice lady said you will have to tell her what the contents are in order to claim it.

I would have called you to tell you that I found the camera, but there was absolutely no contact information found inside or outside of the blue and black bag. I think putting something identifying on your valuables (and based on the contents, it is very valuable) might be wise.

I sincerely hope you and your camera are reunited soon.

Always,

AlliĀ

Hmm…my imagination starts to run wild. Who would leave something so valuable behind and not come back for it…unless something happened to him/her! You may have stumbled onto some sort of a mystery, or even crime! ;)

So, if the bag is never claimed will it revert back to you after a certain amount of time (i.e., as the finder)?

I’m not really a crime fighter. My superpower is finding things, so I guess it fell into that realm. I keep forgetting to call the center and ask them if I can claim it after X amount of days.
