Coffee Festival at the Chattanooga Market

CandlesThe last Chattanooga Market of the year was this weekend and after an odd weekend, I managed to spend about half an hour there. It was kind of overwhelming to see all the different merchants and know that I didn’t have a lot time to spend there.

I was able to pick up a pound of coffee from the Greyfriar’s booth and I even got a small Christmas present for someone (can’t say who!) from the the Wood You Believe booth. Rick Urban, the artist/ craftsman/ merchant was so nice and took my information to be entered into a drawing for one of his 50% off sales.

Below are some of my pictures from the outing (I’m still trying to figure out Worpress and layout, so sorry if it is ugly). I look forward to the opening of next year’s market.

I had planned to go to the coffee roast, but sick kids dictated the day. I’m glad you were able to go.

Not sure if you have this control, or if they can add this for you (it requires some template tweaking), but Lightbox JS integrates well with WordPress because you can post a row of thumbnails that open up into a slideshow. Check out the example at the bottom of this post.

Love the shot of the candles! Sounds like a wonderfully fun event … and Rick Urban’s work looks really, really cool.

Question … the band in the last picture … is it Sweet Georgia Sound, by chance?

  3. Alli Says:

@ Scott: sorry you missed it. I saw your Lightbox on your site and love it. I’ll see what Jon says.

@ Jeremy: I have no idea who the band is, but I can find out. That sax player on the right works at the company I work for. I’ll ask him.

  4. Jon Says:

Scott & Alli, very cool lightbox effect. I’ll check it out and see if I can get it working.

  5. Alli Says:

I just confirmed from the sax player that the band is the UPTown Big Band Orchestra and they will be playing at the UnumProvident Atrium this Friday from 11:45 - 12:30. Sounds like fun!

Cool … another Big Band to check out around town! I’ll have to see if I can make it down tomorrow to hear them …
