Grandma Moses exhibition almost over: free day at Hunter Museum August 5th
On my way downtown the other day I noticed a billboard advertising the Hunter Museum’s latest exhibit, Grandma Moses: Grandmother to the Nation. What caught my eye is the end date of the exhibition: August 12th.
That will be here before you know it and I really wanted to see this exhibit. So I think I will try to make it to the Family Fun Day on Sunday, August 5th. Every first Sunday of the month, the Hunter Museum of American Art is free for everyone. I have never been to the Hunter, so I think I need to check it out while it is free.
If you are unable to make it to the museum on August 5th, the hours are: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m; Wednesday and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Adult admission is $8 and $4 for children 3 to 17.
The next exhibit for the Hunter is Dario Robleto: Chrysanthemum Anthems from August 25th to November 4th:
Dario Robleto: Chrysanthemum Anthems focuses on symbols of grief and mourning connected to soldiers of war. The works in the exhibition are based upon material culture produced during the early development of the United States and integrate artifacts from wars, particularly those that have taken place on U.S. soil such as the Civil War and Revolutionary War.
