Allied Arts Chattanooga looking for new President

I am still in Alabama with my family, just chilling for the week. We should be back on Sunday.

But even if I am not there in Chattavegas, I am sure there is plenty to do there. In my email this morning I got my weekly edition of the Arts Wire. This is an email sent out by Allied Arts.

Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga is a private, nonprofit united arts fund and arts council, established in 1969. Allied Arts provides a united voice for all cultural organizations and activities in Hamilton County.

Currently Allied Arts is looking for a new president:

The Board of Directors of Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga invites applications for the position of President. The President is the organization’s administrative leader and chief development officer, responsible for administrative activities and providing strong leadership to the staff and volunteers as a united arts fund organization. The President reports to the Board of Directors. Salary is commensurate with experience. Applicants should send a letter of application, resume and three professional references to search@alliedartschattanooga.org. Applications must be submitted electronically. Deadline for application is July 27, 2007. Allied Arts is committed to principles of equal opportunity, equal access, and affirmative action.

AA LogoAllied Arts has many programs that help assist artists get community support, educating the public through hands on experiences and activites, and even a program to help artists relocate to Chattanooga and “enthusiastically contribute to the cultural vitality of our community in one of five qualifying neighborhoods: Cowart Place, Jefferson Heights, M L King District, Fort Negley, and Main Street.”

If you know anyone suitable for the President position, please encourage them to apply. And if you are wanting to also receive the Arts Wire email every week, send a request to aarts@alliedartschattanooga.org.
