This week at the Hunter Museum
The Hunter Museum will host Folk Art Today, Thursday, May 31st, from noon to 8 p.m. Paul D’ Ambrosio, folk art scholar and Chief Curator at the Fenimore Art Museum, will share his views on Folk Art and discuss the Grandma Moses exhibition.
The Hunter’s website states:
Grandma Moses: Grandmother to the Nation will put Moses’ work in context to account for its immense popularity. The exhibit will focus on such topics as: Grandma and Regionalism, Women’s Work, Grandma Meets Norman Rockwell, Grandma Fights the Cold War, Grandma Products and Grandma as Celebrity.
Admission to the museum is $8 for adults and $4 for children 3 to 17. Children under 3 and museum members are free. The hours are

Tuesday 10:00am – 5:00pm
Wednesday Noon – 5:00pm
Thursday 10:00am – 9:00pm
Friday 10:00am – 5:00pm
Saturday 10:00am – 5:00pm
Sunday Noon – 5:00pm
This Sunday, June 3rd, from noon to 5 p.m. enjoy Free First Sundays at the Hunter. There will be music, folk art and down-home fun for children of all ages to celebrate the work of Grandma Moses.
